Which Deity?

Does anyone here have a relationship with a specific deity?

Many years ago I was tapped by the Nordic Allmother Frigga. She came into my house in a vision one day while I was just going about my usual business, doing the wash. She didn't really say anything to me at the time of the vision, but once I "came back" to myself, I pulled out my rune cards and did a reading to see if she had a message for me. She sent me a particular rune three times in a row, and I'm still working out the meaning of this message.

The rune she sent was eihwaz (if anyone here is familiar with it; it looks like this: http://www.sweb.cz/Lihniste/eihwaz.png and is representative of the Yggdrasil, the Nordic World Tree. At this moment a specific message is coming to me, which I'll have to meditate upon.

Here are some artistic renditions of Frigga our Allmother:

I was raised as a Christian, and still am, but I have some very liberal beliefs that I don't think most Christians would accept. For instance, I believe in reincarnation (I have an idea as to what some of my past lives were and how that ties into my soul's continuing its journey in this one) and the ability to receive messages from "the other side". Also (being the artistic type and wanting to be a playwright and stage actress) I believe in muses, not really the ancient Greek type, but just good, kind spirits who reach out to us--angels--but I prefer to think of them as "muses".

Nevermore!

I have a question for you! Even as a Christian, how could you not believe in reincarnation? Jesus himself is reborn. even if its not the "classical" belief in reincarnation (you come back as another creature) it is still a rebirth... which happened after a death... which is basically a form of reincarnation.

I am Both Catholic and a Solidary practicioner, therefore I diefy Mary the Mother of Jesus because according to my Mom, She caused my conception for which of course I am eternally grateful. I also feel as if I have a connection to Isis, and Kuan Yin because of the compassion that they both have.

By the way orioncali it is very easy for Catholics not to beleive in reincarnation as it has been doctrinally not accepted. Therefore if it has been not accepted by the "ruling authority" such as the Pope and the College of Cardinals than it cannot be accepted or beleived by the common beleiver either. Which is quite unfortuate and narrowminded hence my change to Solidary Practicioning (but I cannot give up Jesus's wonderful message either---hence my balance).

I was raised (High) Episcopal and for me Marian veneration came natural. I rarely travel anywhere without my Rosary. As an anthropologist, Mary is simply the Christianized form of Demeter, the Earth Mother. My belief in this is very strong and my prayers when said are always said to Mary/Demeter.

This is very specific, but (even though I'm a woman) ever since my initiation I've felt a very strong bond with the masculine side of divinity.

I've had so many relationships with different Gods, I want to love, honor, and know them all.

I've lived with the idea of Coexistence for so long and I do feel deeply spiritual around fall and spring, I wish I could identify with a deity. For a short time I felt a connection with Christianity's Sophia if that means anything. I'm just coming back to my general Druid aspect of spirituality.

Isis, and Aphrodite. Brigid is awesome.

Neopagans should stop mixing religions. For instance Frigg (or Fríge to the English) is a Germanic goddess, Brigid a Celtic goddess, Aphrodite a Greek goddess, Isis in Egyptian mythology. Whilst I am all for universalism, I do wish people would stick to atleast one set of believes so the deities they worship can fit into their belief system correctly.

I can see the acctraction of mixing many different Indo-European mythologies together (Hinduism, Germanic heathenism, Celtic paganism etc) or just Afro-Asiatic ones together (Egyptian, Judaism, Assyrian etc) but blending the different religious tradition (e.g. mixing, say, Celtic heathenism with Assyrian mythology) is highly problematic.

To King Angantyr-
I hope you return to respond to this, because I'm intriuged by your words. But why is it problematic to pick out the deities each person likes and blending them? I mean, finding deities who correspond with one another in their respective pantheons and using those elements in their own faith? It's said that people create their own gods anyway. I honestly wanna hear your feedback. Could be interesting.

I mainly worship nature or the Earth since it is all around me.

I have an interest in these three Gods:

Norse Mythology with Odin- I have Swedish blood plus I'm drawn to his symbol

Celtic Mythology with Merlin - I think I have Celtic blood in me as well, and I'm fascinated with Merlin. I've read a few places Merlin can be worshiped. I have not found any other God or Goddess.

Egyptian Mythology with Bastet - I have a love for cats and feel I have the spirit of a Panther inside me. I am not sure if I could ever shape-Shift but feel drawn to her for that reason.

Unfortunately I never fully pursued this and is more of a passive worshiper. Perhaps I just procrastinate to much.
