Question about the scene when ting ting saw her grandma (Spoiler)

So when ting ting finds out her grandma is conscious again and making origami, she tells her that shes tired and goes to sleep. She wakes up and finds out that her grandma is passed away.

Is this reality or dream or some sort of transcendental experience for her?

It's very ambiguous, isn't it? Rationally speaking, it was obviously a dream, and a kind of wish-fulfillment dream for Ting Ting, because she finally gets her grandmother's forgiveness, and the grandmother comes back from her coma too. But then when she wakes up and sees what has really happened, she has that origami butterfly in her hand, which could only have been made by her grandmother! I love the way the rational and the irrational, or the supernatural, just sit side by side in the scene without any resolution. That little butterfly in her hand is such a touching image of hope and reconciliation.

Wonderful thoughts given here. The way you worded it makes me appreciate the scene even more.
