'The Ship of Brides' by Jojo Moyes - it's about Australian war brides travelling to England, it's ridiculously awesome :)

A similar film would be Yanks starring Richard Gere. It's about American soldiers arriving in a small English town and of course, people fall in love. Let me know what you think of it.
