We don't know where Jorgen Mortensen is

I cannot stop smiling. This film is simply a charmer, anyone who has doubts, please give it a chance. My first and until now, only Dogme film was Dogville and I couldn't wait until the end, hated it and as a result, ignored anything Dogme. Thankfully I had a sleepless night and nothing else was on. Italian for Beginners is a delight! Be warned, it is full of sweetness and lust, no explosions or car wrecks. A quiet and gentle slice of lifer telling a deceptively simple tale. It is about us and all of our friends.

I agree, it's a very sweet film.

It's strange that "Dogville" even counts as a dogme film, it seems to break almost all the rules...
You should check out some other dogme films, both "Mifunes sidste sang" and "Se til venstre, der er en Svensker" are very cute (Mifune is the better film though). My favourite still is the very first one: "Festen". It's fantastic, very different from this one though.

"Dogville" doesn't count as a "dogma film".

"Dogville" is NOT a Dogme film... I think it's brilliant but also the most disturbing film I've ever seen, in my top 5 of all time. "Italian for Beginners" is a lovely, sweet film, so it's unfair to compare it to "Dogville"... it's like comparing "Amélie" to "Happiness".
