Do you think this season is better than the first?

I always thought this season was a perfect ten like the first season. But after binge watching it I come to realize it is not as good as I thought it was back then.


The first season seemed simple and not so complicated. They had three to two digivolutions. The villains were not connected or really tie together. The characters had personality and actual backgrounds that could be related to one way or another. You could see and feel the bond they had with their partners and well, the list goes on.

Whereas for this season, the three new kids have no real background or personality. Davis and Yolei just have annoying siblings and Cody with his weird voice just hides everything from his mom and grandpa. Kairi has gotten annoying by being a tease and being scared a lot. T.K is okay.

There are way too many digivolution stages and honestly it is not fun watching the transformation like it was in the first season. But even with all the evolving and combinations, they still can't win half the time.

The kids have a holier than thou attitude when it comes to fighting Digimon thinking they are on Ken's level if they "kill" a Digimon even though supposedly Digimon are usually reborn.

The three main driving events of the season are Gatomon's tail ring being used for evil and then good, Digimon being control by Ken, Ken being control by someone and those someones being control by someone else only for that someone else to be possessed by a greater being that only shows for the last what? Three episodes?

Honestly at this point I am just re-watching episodes that have Tai in it. He's just so cute and so is Izzy.

Despite all this, Digimon will always be my all time favorite anime movie. Back when Blockbuster was a thing, it was a movie I always got and I always cried when my dad had to take it back.
