I still can't get over it

I remember watching this when it first came out in 2001 and it always stuck with me. I saw it again the other day and I felt the same way all over again. What an amazing performance by Emma Thompson (I have little doubt she would have won the Academy Award had this been a regular movie, not a TV movie.)

It's one of those films that will always stuck with me; above all the "Runaway Bunny" scene near the end.

Beautiful, sad, amazing, touching, heartbreaking ... you run out of adjectives to describe it. Phenomenal job to all those who were involved.

I can't agree more! Devastating and beautiful.

May I be both brazen and tender to suggest that you were involved; possibly in a way the Edsen, Thompson, McDonald, Pinter, and the master himself, Mike Nichols.
I spent my career creating theatre and now face a malignant diagnosis. The response from you here is what made the decades of writing, rehearsing, designing and performing far more than a job. L. Frank Baum wrote, "All roads lead to Oz." Since the Oz books were filled with symbolism and metaphor, like every human to come before and every one after, our destiny remains very equal.
So thank you for validating this work and subsequently my own. Death be not proud. But inevitable. And somehow I feel it must be as natural as birth; the ultimate book ends.
