THAT'S why it looked so crappy!

Apparently this was "one of the first movies shot. edited & distributed entirely through digital mediums". In 2001 digital, whites bleed out, picture is soft, looks like a bad handi-cam. In 2011 digital, the picture is so good it replaces film in theatres. Overstating I know, but technology has changed SO fast!
