I read the book and it was better than the movie in my opinion. The only time I've ever saw a movie that was better than the book it was based on happens to be by the same writer, and that was How Stella got her groove back. That book was a little boring, but the movie made it interesting, especially Regina king and Whoopi's characters. If you've never read the book but liked the movie I would suggest reading it. As a matter of fact, if you didn't like the movie I would still suggest reading the book because it was a lot better than the movie. Hope this helps.

I have read the book. It is good but the way the book's storyline went really isn't what I like to read. But I read the book to compare it to the movie. The book and movie's main story is quite the same, however (like most books turned to films) the book has way more detail and time to explain them.

There are some moments in the book that I wished were included in the movie because I like those moments so much or they helped boost the story. Some characters from book weren't included in movie, but that doesn't ruin the film. The film to me is good the way it is; the way the story goes is just right for the film and its characters, it gives the viewers enough detail to get us familiar with the characters.

To me, the book and movie separately, are good on their own.

I read the book. Loved how the author put the two main characters' THOUGHTS/perspectives/reasons for their actions on paper. She was spot on.
