What happens to Mack

I've only seen series one, (a plague on them for not releasing the rest of the series on DVD). I know that Mack appears in series 2&3, but what happens to his character?

Hi, I've just watched the last episode of series three on ITV3 in the UK.
Mack features in it heavily. Throughout the episode, Mack is faced with a number of stressful incidents related to the business and his private life. These involve: a major contract going sour, a competitor stitching him up, a reunion with his slacker brother and a pushy, clinging girlfriend.
The incidents culminate in Mack selling his house and handing the business over to his brother. The girlfriend has persuaded him to quit the business and for them to sail round the world together in Mack's yacht, which is moored in Spain.
The penultimate scenes show the factory gates locked, with no sign of Mack's brother, and the employees deciding to occupy the factory until they get their money (over the weekend, their wages haven't been paid).
The final scene sees Mack, alone, at the airport. Mack is on the phone speaking to his girlfriend saying he can't go with her, he wants to be on his own.
In series four, there are a further six episodes. As far as I can tell, Mack doesn't feature in any of them.
I hope that helps.
