Where is the factory based?

Hi,

Does anyone know where they filmed the scenes at the factory (exterior)?

It looks very much like a factory I worked at near Oldham a few years back, but I can't be sure.

Does anyone know?

The exterior was filmed at Trencherfield Mill in Wigan.

Always used to walk past it, even during filming.

For Colin's story the exteriors were shot at a Factory near a lighting place that was called Gorse Mill Chadderton near Oldham behind the Costco, The-interiors were shot on a purpose built set at Wigan Pier in Wigan, I was an extra in Colin's story, as he Clocks on at the end of the episode I'm the guy that Clocks on behind him then follows him in as they all start talking to him, I'm wearing a green sweat shirt with a white piny type thing around my waist.

at least one interior scene was shot in oldham.
episode two of series one has a scene where two cast members are stood on an upper floor of a mill, smoking cigarettes and talking of the house fire. in the background you can see gorse mill in chadderton.

i know a lot of it was shot at the trencherfield mill in wigan,my ex used to work there at the time.

I think it was a mixture of Wigan, Oldham and parts of Manchester.

Its that man again!!

Not sure about the interiors, but most of the exteriors appear to be Ace Mill in Chadderton, Oldham. This link to Google StreetView shows the mill from just outside the gates:
