No fingerprints on the murder weapon?

So they didn't have the ability to fingerprint the weapon? I don't recall him taking the blade or wiping it off. Geez, what inept police! Seems to me that Ed's prints would be all over the office yet he got off scott-free! At least until the end, where he got the blame on a murder he didn't commit and couldn't prove innocence because he had killed the REAL killer!

Other than that, it was a well-made movie though a bit contrived.

I thought of that too but considered it ambiguous because he did look down at the murder weapon and then the next cut was to him leaving the building so we don't know if he wiped off the prints.

At the very least he left his handprints on the doors as he left the building! That's for certain.
