I can't believe someone actually put an actress as mediocre as Heigl on some kind of pedestal. She was an Apatow party favor for a few years, nothing more.
Except, uh, David Boreanaz has had a show on Fox for close to a decade now .....

Heigl didn't really blow up 'til about five years later with Grey's Anatomy and then Knocked Up. It's not like she knew she was going to be a bigger actress when she accepted the role. Her biggest credit up to that point was in Bride Of Chucky. If anything, this film probably seemed like a natural progression.
