I loved it

Much more realistic to the setting of the story.

Older Nellie, is also more realistic than the glitzy version of the 50's, which I totally loved. I liked seeing Glenn sing and dance.

This version is different and good in it's own way.

I realize I am responding to a post that is nearly two years old, but I just watched it, and I loved it, too.

I've seen the Gaynor/Brazzi version several dozen times, and I'll probably plug it in again tomorrow, just for comparison. Nothing will take the place in my heart of the original movie, but this Glenn Close version was a refreshing departure.

The original was released the year I was born, so I literally grew up with the soundtrack album, which my mother wore out as she was trying to overpower the noise of ... KIDS ...

There was a nice mix of old and new...My favorite shots were there, my favorite bits of dialogue were almost verbatim, and I realize that some people don't think that's a good thing, but I do.

I applaud Glenn Close for this movie! Okay, I've read the criticism: she was too old for the role.

Guess what: I DON'T CARE. She sang much better than I expected, she looked at 53 like she was 40, and the reason I KNOW is because I'm almost 53, and, uh, I LOOK like I'm 53.

I don't have words to describe how derned sexy this Emile is...He just oozes something....ahh.

Kind regards,

You both have very bad taste.

This was a remake that shouldn't have been remade.

Thanks for your response, but you don't know me well enough to know if I have good taste, taste good, or taste well.
