I didn't know she could do accents
Her accents were pretty believable to me. Although sometimes I could catch some words that wouldn't sound real but she did pretty good pronouncing them.

yeah, thats where I watched it last night too. If she could play more roles like this, people will stop degrading her as a pretty face that can't act.

I was pretty embarrassed for her at the Movie Awards. Obviously she shouldn't play comedic roles.

I thought she was pretty funny on the MTV awards. She was hired for Good Luck Chuck *because* of the King Kong skit. So some people thought she was funny.
As for Sleeping Dictionary, I found her accent to be consistent. I don't know what that accent is supposed to sound like, but it worked for the movie. She played a beautiful half-native girl who Hugh's character falls in love with. I thought she did a good job... she made me want to run off in the jungle with her!
I think the movie itself was very good. The scene when the guy finds out she knows he is her father at the end, brought a tear to my eye. He had to be the noble Englishman the whole time, when he really loved his daughter dearly. It was heartwrenching.
I think Alba was about 17 when she did this movie... it's hard to tell by looking. I've seen clips of her from Flipper when she was 14, and she looks almost exactly the same as she did when she was 23. Usually people change a lot between those ages.
