When I went to school, Sarawak was in South East Asia (Borneo). It seems as if it has moved to South America since then.

Hello ! Well I haven't watched this movie yet, just thought I'd clear up some things about Sarawak... as I am actually from Sarawak :) Sarawak is now a state in Malaysia, however in the movie setting, which took place during the British colonisation of Sarawak, it was an individual republic of its own. It shares the same island as part of Indonesia : the island of Borneo is actually made up of 3 countries today... parts of Malaysia, parts of Indonesia and also Brunei, which is a country around the same size as Singapore. Anwyays, hope this clears things up for u guys... is the movie any good ?

Oh by the way... Malaysia is in South East Asia, which is quite a distance away from South America :)

Alright, my name's Zak and i'M FROM AMERIca. I lived in Sarawak for five years. the last guy that posted is right. three parts. Why would it move to South America? That's stupid. It's not even close to South America. Many of my friends were in this movie. I lived less that thirty minutes away from where they filmed it. I know one of Jessica Alba's stand-ins. Please don't tell me they filmed this in South America. If they did, my whole life has been a dream. LOL.

I'm watching the show on DVD now. One thing that strikes me is, as soon as Alba's character comes on, Sarawak does indeed turns into South America. Every damn frame the girl is on. So Stellen's comment isn't completely off the mark.

They got a stand-in for this girl over there? Damn. I gotta plan my vacation soon.

Hmm...well there happens to be dense rainforest in both locations, therefore how are you able to recognize the difference between both jungles? Is it the colors of the trees? The amount of rain falling? Or is it the color of natives skin? Hmm... Anyway, yes Jessica Alba was there, she and my sister played a game of pool at the Victoria Arms Club in Merdeka Palace in Kuching (in Sarawak) while the filming was going on...in the jungle of Borneo...might I add. Also her boyfriend at the time (Jessica Albas, whom she is no longer connected to), who co-starred along side her in the series 'Dark Angel' whos name is Michael Wheatherly (played Logan Cale in Dark Angel)was there with her. So yes in fact soon as Jessica quote.."appeared" in the film it did not suddenly switch to the jungle of South America. So they didn't play a trick on us after all guykamen...you were fooled in the end.

reply

This was filmed in and around Kuching, Sarawak. Jessica Alba was present at all location shoots. My cousin was a walk-in extra and my uncle was the production assistant on set. There are photos of them posing with her (lucky sods). I don't know why everyone is talking about South America?

Wow...OK,let's clear things up.Sarawak is on the island of Borneo, which is located in South-East Asia.It is one of the only two states of Malaysia which are in the East.Borneo island comprises of parts of three countries : East Malaysia, the Sultanate of Brunei, and Indonesian Kalimantan.Sarawak used to be under the control of the Sultanate of Brunei until the 1800's,when the British took control of the area.It was not until 1963 that Sarawak became a part of Malaysia(Malaysia was formed on the 16th of September,1963).As someone from Sarawak myself,I would like to stress the fact that Sarawak is IN SOUTH-EAST ASIA and not South America.
