A better ending would be...

It could have been more believable if it ends in tragedy. l'd prefer Alba got killed and a sad Dancy takes the kid and his pregnant wife back to England, while Hoskins lives the rest of his life in guilt and sorrow. See, suddenly you could have a much more 0scar worthy film!

The ending we have now has no emotional impact at all. And it's not very realistic. lt's only a happy fantasy ending - they live happily ever after. But could he really stand a life in the jungle? He's not Tarzan! He would want to get back to UK and take Alba+kid with him in a few months. The mother would never want to leave the place of course...Wait a minute, could that be the sequel??

That's a Smith & Wesson...and you've had your six.

I was actually expecting her do die at the end, because I'm used to romantic tragedies. but I'm glad they chose a happy ending. It's nice to see them once in a while.

He lived in the jungle for a long time before he married CECIL, and he liked it.
