Hands down the worst in the series.

All it is is just shooting.

reply

I thought that when i watched it last night
The first drill bit cracked into the cave and i thiought this is it , it'll be all shooting now
I checked the progress bar - film 50% through

Great i though all thats left is 45 minutes of constant machinegun fire and cgi bullets and squids and shellcasings.
Luckily though it was only from 50% to 75% , then some other stuff started happening

so, yeah 25% of the film is that guy in his exoskeleton firing the massive machine guns and yelling "aaaarrrrggghhhh"

reply

As weak as the third film is, I did like how hopelessly relentless the machine squids were. I also liked that the violence wasn't muted or toned down. It felt very visceral and, dare I say, epic.

A shame the movie seemed like it didn't really know where it wanted to go for the first bit, and then meandered into a lot of violence in the middle, and then kind of petered out with an overly long fist fight at the end.

I saw this in theatre with a bunch of friends, and when we left the theatre I recall one of my friends saying, "all right, we're all going to agree that this was shit, right?"

reply

Glad I never saw it. Loved the first one but thought Reloaded was so horrible I was never tempted to see Revolutions.

reply

The only positive thing about the third on is that it doesn't really get boring with slow scenes. It's just boring from endless shooting.

reply

I agree (not that reloaded wasn't also bad)... I honestly feel there is no real story in revolutions... or how should I put it... whatever happens in revolutions could easily have been added to reloaded which would then have lasted 15 mins more... but that would have been better than whatever Revolutions was trying to be...

reply

It's like they wanted to make a trilogy so they decided to extend part 3 with the same thing going on and on.

reply

For me Reloaded and Revolutions are together just one big movie

reply

Navras in the end saves a lot.

reply

And not just shooting but bland, uninteresting shootings.

At least the second one had the highway action scene. This one's action was mostly forgettable

reply

The only action scene inrmemeber was the one at the end in the rain. Everything else is just aimless shooting.

reply

Worst in the series?

As of 12/22/2021 .... that’s not the case anymore

reply

Probably. I haven't seen it yet.

reply

Far better than Reloaded. I feel like Reloaded is largely overrated trash to be frank. I'd rather the shooting than Neo's excessively long fight scenes in Reloaded that completely throw power scaling and attention to pacing out the window. I mean, even the famous neo vs million smiths fight was awful, and it definitely didn't age better. I much prefer their duel at the end of Revolutions.

reply

I'm not a fan of the second one, but I feel it's more memorable than this one. I haven't seen part 4 yet so maybe that can be worse than this.

reply

It's a bit more memorable but it has more stuff that pisses me off than Rev.

Yeah, gonna see 4 this weekend...we'll see how this goes lol

reply

I seriously hope yoou're joking.

Reloaded is 1000000 times better than Revolutions.

Revolutions is an abomination.

reply

Matrix Revolutions is simply horrendous!

Only the last part of the movie, the final battle, is absolutely epic. But the rest is just pure garbage.

Matrix Reloaded is 100000 times better.

reply

I wrote this post 4 years ago and I have to make an edit: now that The Matrix Resurrections has been released, The Matrix Revolutions is now the second worst in the franchise.

reply

Matrix Resurrections is MASSIVELY better than Matrix Revolutions.

Matrix Revolutions is the worst one by miles.

reply

I just couldn't stand all that meta stuff in part 4.

reply

Still way better than that garbage from Revolutions.
