Did this get re-rated to a PG-13?

This is an official image from the back of the US triple feature blu-ray, just wondering if this is a misprint or if it really has been re-rated down.

Honestly I've never found any of The Matrix movies to be that worthy of the R rating, they've always felt more or less like unrated cuts of PG-13 movies.

Huh...I'll have to find a copy of the blu-ray and find this out myself. I also think these movies weren't R worthy.

What about that totally unnecessary hump scene in Reloaded? Instant '15' at least, sex is.

In the UK the original was a '15', as were the two sequels.

Is a '15' the equivalent of an 'R'?

reply

Some R rated movies get a 15, some get an 18... others are cut for a 15 ie The Equalizer and A Walk Among The Tombstones. The BBFC has a totally different system than the MPAA, they don't just port ratings over based on identical criteria.

It seems gratuitous, but the WB put it in for a reason. There is a degree of symbolism woven into that scene.

On the US Triple Feature Blu Rays I saw at Target and Best Buy, all three movies were Rated R.

I was just about to ask the same thing. I noticed that it says PG-13 on Amazon. I just ordered the trilogy and it should arrive in a couple days. I'll check the case to see if it differs from the Amazon image!

reply

It says [R] on the back of my triple feature blu-ray and also the rating screen before the film starts.

Hail to the king, baby.

reply

No. At least not... officially.

Compared to the first two, this one easily has a light R Rating.

You want something corny? You got it!

reply

No, and the matrix revolutions is actually more bloody and gruesome than the first two because it shows the horrors of war
