if liz hadnt told mike she had the key, they would of been ok

she could of gone up the ladder and opened the door, and just said "oh hey mike, the doors open, martin must of come back and unlocked it,"
then they would of both got out safely and lived happily ever after together.

Sure, but her reasons for telling him get at the heart of her pathology and her reasons for locking them in in the first place.

would have, could have, must have, would have.

Where in the world did you learn that "would of" is correct???

"Would of" is an incredibly common mistake, because that's what it sounds like. It's annoying, yes, because it makes no sense, but I've learned to put up with common mistakes.

'would have' not 'would of'...
The film the hole is one of my faves and I agree with the point you made.

I can't even describe how much 'would of' pisses me off, and the frightening thing is the sheer amount of people that think it's correct.

but martin wasn't apart of their group, and had nothing to do with the hole. and plus i doubt mike would have wanted anything to do with her shortly after it all happened. he would be too damaged, after killing his friend. also if he did ever leave her she would have prob killed him, or framed him for something.
