this is a copy of DO Ladke Dono Kadke... amol palekar film

see the movie-
Do ladke dono kadke- starring amol palekar and asrani.
a Basu chaterjee film no less.
it was made in 1979.

subsequently a south indian film with a similar story was made.
"Ramaji Rao Speaking"... this was in 1989. directed by Lal Sidiqque.

Priyadarshan, i guess, copied the RR speaking movie.
Not knowing... the original film was Do Ladke Dono Kadke.
the story is very very similar.
well.

We all know that Priyadarshan usually remakes films.
Little did he know that this time he remade a basu chaterjee film.

cause he sourced the south indian version.
So before you give kudos to this film... the movie plot is totally copied. The dialogues of Hera Pheri, on the other hand, are brilliant. but why not give credit to the original writers.
some knowledge for all you writers there.

its not the story but the script and dialogues that makes HP brilliant. The script gives life to somewhat ordinary story and make it a funny and gripping commoners tale. So even if its inspired by Do ladke dono kadke (not sure about that) the movie's grace, its script is moreover original (w.r.t malayalam movie Ramji Rao Speaking). And Priyan gave credit to Siddique and LAl who made Ramjirao Speaking.

And speaking about the movie, if you are a real fan of this movie, try watching its original Ramjirao Speaking wid some subtitles. That movie is so good that it can be called a classic. (maybe HP is nothing before RRS)
