IMDB works on racism ... i whatch some good indian movies like:

if you are trolling the top 250, you are doing it really well. but if you are serious there is something wrong.

we used to have bollywood movies on tv when i was a child, so i am familiar with that. even when i was in elementary school, i used to watch them as a guilty pleasure, crappy, funny stuff even it's full of drama, and i kind of liked them. i watched 3 idiots just to complete the 250. i was very pre-judgemental, was kind of surprised. it was really funny. maybe, or not maybe, definitely it is not as good as to be in top something, but internationally it's a nice movie, don't think it's bollywood, dances, songs and etc.

i was depressed when sholay was on the list, i waited for a while to disappear, but than i decided to watch it not to be again pre-judgemental. it was one of the most ridiculous things i have seen. and as far as i understood from your messages, hindus don't watch them as a funny, teasing material, you really think they are good. if somehow it was monty python stuff, like making fun of something, it would be a thing. but anyhow if they are making fun of something, they can't do it well either. for me sholay has nothing different than all the other bollywood movies of that time. that time period is also probably more than a decade, it seems like nothing changed.

there are some really old, and probably very stupid movies of my country as well which we love, and have watched 100 times and will probably continue watching. actors of those times we love, costumes, and etc. those will mean nothing to anyone who is not a native, if you watch one of them maybe you will probably think similar to what i have thought about sholay. the jokes won't mean anything, they are all "inside joke", there is no new technique that is different than any other crappy stuff, actually there is nothing new. just like all the movies you are trying to show to the world. also in my country people try to promote local stuff, they had put one stand-up show on top 250, which was also too stupid. new movies can be good, with the plot, the art direction, and everything, but old ones i would keep ours to myself. for me they are nice, old places from my city, or clothes, houses, it's like history, and stupidly funny, but if some one sees that jokes we laugh, they might think we are stupid as well. which now we think about your hindu movies. last month i have seen a musical in my country, that was so popular 30 years ago, and i was shocked that people in my country really laughed at these jokes. also there are some movies that we know that they are the worst ever, so bad that it's hilarious. no one, anyone who is not trolling the site, can vote 10 for those ones.

imdb top 250 doesn't really show the top movies of all time, but except few, each of them has a point. when you think about their time, each of them has something new. new word, new approach in scenario, new technique or etc. your old hindu movies has or had nothing new for the world. if i were you, i would keep it to myself, and i don't know why you are doing this to your culture, you put them in front of people, and make people hate them. and even you don't know which one is the best, because you are voting the top point for the ones closest to 25k votes, and people who doesn't understand anything about it, or hasn't seen them votes 1. i am not nationalist but i would vote, and promote a local movie if i really think it says something worth sharing with the world. i recommend the same to you. if it's a joke it's funny, if it's not a joke it needs to be solved.
