question

OK, maybe it was just me, but i didnt really understand what the LSD had to do with the main plot of the movie. I just saw it as an excuse for some stoner director to use drugs, even though it really didnt move the plot along at all. Did I miss something? Can someone explain this?

get the dvd and listen to the directors commentary. the movie is about the drug, or more so, what happens when you try to get out there. listen to the speech joey lauren adams' character gives about dread. that sums up the ending.

What is more extraordinary is Polly Shannon won and kept her role because she is a Canadian national treasure of an actress who sticks by her principals of "No I will not suck you for a role even if you get your sex addicted friend Warren beatty to soften me up fist," She charmingly reminds the older guys in positions of power that she can act and she would be happy to give them her best in their movie but the other is inappropriate.
You go Polly. We are all proud of you for valuing your talent . I was a reader at one of your auditions once and was horrofied to hear the way they talked after, containing questions about you single status. I wish Polly all the best,

There's books with chapters about James Toback's sexual harassment and worse of actresses. One is called "You'll Never Make Love In This Town Again." I'm glad you're against this but it is wrong that she had to go through that and that anyone ever employed James Toback again for any reason. For that matter, by the time he did that, he's been known for sexual harassment for years but studios still give him money and put him in the position of employing actresses. Bad studios! Lions Gate? What's up with that?
