Yeah its more of the same. DKC2 will always rule though.

Get it, it's a great game, but doesn't dethrone DKC2 as the best game of the trilogy. But it's different enough that it doesn't just feel like an inferior rehash, though it does have a few things from DKC2, (e.g. DK Coins, but the way you collect them is not without a slight twist). It has some interesting concepts, particularly the new, semi-RPG-ish feel (don't worry though, the gameplay is, essentially in the same vein as the previous two), while not straying from the formula that made the first two entertaining. Music is nice, but not as majestic and impressive as DKC2's was.
While a fair many dislike this game, dismissing it as a dud, I quite enjoy it, and I was a fan of the trilogy for over a decade, and still am. If you try to see this game as its own, and not another, improved Diddy's Kong Quest, you might appreciate it for what it is.

If you have a GBA, good, because this will be on it soon...it will be worth checking out.

I give it 3.5/4.

It's a decent game but just doesn't have the same 'feel' as DKC2, which is by far the best of the three. I take far more satisfaction from finishing DKC2 than the other 2.

I think you're the same as me / We see things they'll never see / You and I are gonna live forever

It feels a little like Sonic Heroes was. A little bright (colorwise), different gameplay, but still like the others in some way. Its worth buying.

It's exactly like the pokemon series (not literally).

Pokemon Red/Blue were inovators, instant sucsess and ultimatly enjoyable to play. Sure they had some elements that could be improved, but they seemed so perfect at the time. It's like Donkey Kong Country 1.

Pokemon Gold/Silver improve many of the complaints of the old version, adding so much and so many elements for a perfect gaming experience. Just like Donkey Kong Country 2.

Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire didn't really improve anything, but it added some new features to the gameplay new pokemon. Sure people say it's the bad, but that's not the truth, if you liked any other Pokemon Gamboy RPG you'll love this. It's just how DKC3 added new enemies and worlds. It didn't really improve much from DKC2 but it was a hell of a game.

The only thing more ironic than bootlegging Eragon (the movie) is being accused of plagiarism by CP

It sure is. Although neither Diddy or Donkey Kong are usable characters, this time it's Dixie and Kiddie Kong. The graphics are unbelievable, the music is again great, but not like part 2's, the bosses are cool, there are 2 endings to the game (finding the Banana Birds is fun), and you play a game of "Simon" to get them. That is one of my favorite scenes, and the music is mystical too.

And in the sound test mode there's even a Christmas song! And there's a way to turn the green bananas into Xmas gifts in the bonus rounds by doing a code. Swanky's tune is another one of my faves, the bonus games are fun to play over and over again. And no matter how you do, you ALWAYS get rewarded.

It's certainly not a dud!!!
