This or Alpha Dog...

Interesting contrast. Both about a teen being assassinated by a group of conspirators. Both based on true stories.
A bit apples and oranges since one was an *beep* being killed and the other an innocent.
Solid core of actors in each. I rate both movies an 8 on imdb.
Bully is more bleak, visceral and has a more realistic vibe. It has the Larry Clark scuz on it. Alpha Dog is more tragic, emotional, and is more sleek.
The murder scenes do exemplify these differences too. In Bully, the inexperienced killers meet chaos. They don't have the experience to quickly stab him to death. The victim has an "Et tu, Brute?" moment. Then a nasty finish. Bleak, visceral and believable.
In Alpha Dog there is reluctant trust and betrayal between the victim and the captors who he mostly trusted, and most of whom wouldn't have gone through with it alone. It is a more emotional execution. the movie was like a coming of age movie with a tragic ending.
I am leaning Alpha Dog by a hair. I remember a decent amount of drag in Bully. I thought there was a deeper bench of great acting in Alpha Dog.
