Why did Marty get death and not Donny?

Donny talked. Because he did stab Bobby like twenty times, they had to give him serious time. But he avoided the life sentence by talking. Pretty obvious, actually.

Well, Marty apparently gave the most fatal stabs. I don't recall if that meant anything for his sentencing.

I think I read somewhere a while back that her sentence was due to perjury, or her lieing during the trial.

I think it was considered more heinous in Marty's case because he knew Bobby for years and was his best friend up until murdering him.

Personally, I don't know what's worse; somebody murdering a life-long friend in cold blood or somebody happily agreeing to take part in the murder of someone they've never met.

reasons i can think of

1.Puccio , more deep in the conspiracy. Puccio and Connelly are the ones who actually have an interest and stake in this entire project. Who is Kent to Semenec?He has barely met him...ok, word is that Kent has raped and/or roughed up the chick Donny is following around like a Maltese Shiatsu X..
But that Kent/Willis incident was never the main driver here..it is the Kent/Puccio/Connelly triangle that says Kent has to go.

2.Donny Semenec is suspected of being a simpleton or actually brain-damaged from being continually fried, is the type likely to go along with ANYTHING his peer group tell him to do...especially a popular girl who is giving him sex..

3. Puccio inflicted lethal wounds, Semenec was so all-round incompetent a clown at it that his stab wounds were @1" deep and superficial, they did not even fell Kent but seemed to mostly annoy and scare him.

Puccio sank the scuba knife into his abdomen, and twisted it, so that 6" of Kent's intestine popped out with it...then while sitting on his chest after he had fallen, he maybe gave him two or three more down into the chest...but his piece de resistance was slitting his throat deep almost ear to ear, half friggen decapitated him..chances are he was already done, already either dead or mortally injured, even though Kaufman then did the number on him with the alu baseball bat.

when Puccio got rolling with that Mike Nelson knife, he was not playing , obviously once Semenec had lit the fuse on the action, Puccio's intent was fully to kill ie murder.

If it was left to the idiot Semenec, Kent would have walked out of there that night, gone to the ER and got some stitches in his back and neck.
