jessica read the previous book by the Russian guy, and it was a true story, how he killed 2 journalists in afganistan, and she realised, that one of the journalist was her friend Warren´s son. So Warren wanted a revenge and killed the russian.
He shot himself in jessica´s room (so to show the police, that the killer is still outside, so they would release the blond girl, Patricia), and he wrote the note Stop now or die.
Jessica confronted him, he took a revolver and threatened jessica, but jessica said to him: you cant see innocent people suffering, so he handed the gun to jessica and they went to the police to confess.
