I saw many reviews praising "Lavoura Arcaica" and I found it unusual for an average movie,
After checking them, I found that a high percentage belongs to people that have only one (1) review in IMDb, in a typical procedures that may indicate that they might have been written only to promote the film.
This film is anything but "average." It was highly acclaimed by critics when first released and won dozens of awards at festivals worldwide. It hasn't become a cult classic or anything, but many of us who have seen it believe it's a masterpiece. There are 23 reviews of "Lavoura Arcaica" on IMDb as of today; it's not a recent Sundance release (those often receive fake reviews for promotion, check out "Nobody Walks" boards, for instance), but I highly doubt that's the case with this film.

I think it's more interesting how some reviewers are so desperate for getting "likes" on their comments that they create 7 different accounts and vote on their own comments with which one of them!
