Favorite Combat System

One of my favorite parts of this great game was its fanastic combat system. Stamina, 3 levels of physical attacks, followed by levels of elements placed on a grid with only room for a certain number of elements on each level. Tech skills, summons, field effect, double and triple tech skills that are hard to pull off but extremely powerful. Innate colors, comsumables, and so on and so on. This is one of the few RPGs that the fighting never seemed monotonus to me. In a lot of games without random encounters, I would have searchedout fights just for experiance points, but in Chrono Cross, every battle was fun! What a concept!

CC had a good combat system. I didnt like the innate stuff..it made the bosses too easy. it was unique though.

Yeah, CC was good. But my favourite is probably FFVI. So many enjoyable input methods for attacks. You had Cyan's sword tech, where you waited for it to fill (doing so, meant you sustained more hits from enemies), or Saban's Blitz, where you inputted street fighter-like commands, or you could gamble, like with Setzer, the list goes on, very enjoyable with good depth and diversity.

The worst has to be FFXII. If i wanted to write AI scripts, I'd be a computer programmer. Ugh.
