Did they ever explain what happened in Year 0?

I'm pretty sure at the beginning of Chrono Trigger they were celebrating the anniversary of them defeating a wizard or something, did they ever elaborate on that at all?
It seems like a good idea to include if they ever do come out with a sequel.

they were celebrating gaurdia's 1000th birthday. [spoiler}]the creatures weren't defeated. history was altered so they them and the humans became friends. [/spoiler]

The wizard that was defeated was Magus. That was in the year 600 though. Not year 0.

It's been awhile, but year 0 could have been the fall of the Kingdom of Zeal and the destruction of the Ocean Palace. Human technology was basically reset when Zeal fell. Humans went back to living in caves and for the most part no one could use magic anymore. So, it would make sense that it could have been year 0.

It's been awhile since I've played this game. but I believe that zeal fell in 7200 bc. 8800 earlier.

And no year 0 was never explained.
