I agree with ChefJudy's observation. It wasn't the spinny thing, but a Maya urn containing a box with the ashes of V's mother. The daughter runs down the stairs and starts to scoop up the ashes to put them back into the rectangular box. In a later scene Juliette's character mentions that there are so many other villages in need of being changed, but it will have to be done by someone else as she disperses the ashes in the air over the water. It symbolized the end of the nomadic life that began with her own mother.
