A link to poem from which the film takes its title

Due to the numerous references throughout the film and given that i believe everyone should read it:

The Love Song Of J. Alfred Prufrock
T.S. Eliot

This has been one of my favorite poems for years.

I never tire of reading this poem, nor do I ever cease to marvel at the ability of a 19-yr-old poet to capture so brilliantly the regrets of a middle-aged man who never had the courage to pursue his dreams and so wonders what his predictable life has meant.

I do not seek to understand so that I may believe, but I believe so that I may understand.
