This film's DVD doesn't have closed captioning or subtitles.

I found that ironic.

This came up at a viewing/discussion we had for the the film at the library I work at. We were showing the film as part of Deaf History Month and invited a couple of speakers from the deaf community. One of them mentioned it and until then, I had no idea. Dumb on the part of the company that put out the DVD.

Definitely thought the same thing. I'm not deaf, but tend to watch films with subtitles on as a habit. Definitely ironic.

I often prefer to watch TV and films with the captioning/subtitles on too, even though I'm not deaf. Apparently it really gets on some people's nerves. lol.

That's odd.
It has a cc symbol on it.
Seems strange that they would add the symbol but not have closed captioning.

Thats really unfortunate. Deaf people should be allowed to see this so they can join in the debates. Its very sad that they don't get to have a say about this film.

I noticed the lack of them too. Idiotic! Even hearing people occasionally benefit from them when something is hard to hear. I use them at least once every movie I watch. I recently watched another movie about a deaf person and it also lacked them. I can't figure out whether it's just some highly coincidental oversight, or some subconscious dislike of deaf people that causes this. I mean, how do you forget to include captions on a movie about deaf people, which lots of deaf people will undoubtedly be watching?!?

We watched this on a computer and there was captioning. It's just not available from the main menu... you have to turn in on through the device you're playing the DVD from.

So... yes, it does have captioning!
