could you cut down on insulting other people with your stupid comments? the language you speak wasn't spoken by only saints eighter! that's one of the most stupid comments i've ever read! well, maybe more than 100 million people who speak german as their mothertongue care! you're just a retard!

Well Colonelshort,

In this reality WW2 ended 60 years ago. Furthermore, German is not "Hitler's language" but rather a language that he spoke (with an Austrian accent if you want to get picky) which was in use way longer than his brief history. Since the time of Hitler, Germany as a nation has been incredibly active in atonement of its dark history, and continues to be to this day.

I put to you that it is attitudes like yours that stifle any chance of humanity to advance forward; far easier to keep harping back to those Nazi Germans, when a quick look at the calendar will quickly demonstrate that the year is 2005, and not 1933.

Also, does it not strike you as odd that a comment regarding synchronisation of a film about a Romanian would stir a response such as the one you gave? I put to you again that someone here may need to control their unwarranted outbursts of anger, and indeed that the same person start to act with a level of civility that their original posts indicates they crave so much from others.

I'm Niels Brinks, as you can see I star as the young Radu in Dark Prince. I wish everybody would stop their insults. Rudolph Martin is a great, a bit weird, but a very kind man. So what if he’s German? Makes him being German a bad guy? Please just stop with this nonsense! I’m Dutch, so tell me, what is wrong with me?

I think viag_99 meant the german synchronisation was not very good, he doesn't said the language or the actor sucks! I just saw this movie and I have to agree with viag_99, the german synchro is really bad. I'm german, but I switched the language into english..

i'm german as well and i think the german synchronisation was very bad. i have really never seen a movie that was synchronized that badly. i had to laugh all the time he was saying anything. somehow that spoiled all the movie for me because it was not meant to be a comedy, i guess.

i tried to watch the film two days ago on german television and had just two opportunities: turn off the sound or switch the program. i switched.
it was so disgusting to hear vlad speaking like already be coffined in the beginning of the film, that i doubted to watch a film that might be even a bit better in the original version. very, very poor.
probably i should try to find the english version. would it be worth it?

Then again, some people spell it "Adolph Hitler" when documentation indicates that Adolf Hitler (or, perhaps more properly, Adolf Shickelgruber) spelled his first name with an F instead of a PH.

It could be phoenetic shifts between languages and their respective alphabets are to blame, but to the best of my knowledge the English translations of the Greek alphabet are the only instance of the "F" sound being represented with a PH, yet the Greek language doesn't (or shouldn't) at all factor into English spellings of Germanic names such as Dolf, Adolf, Rudolf, Randolf, Stefan, Seifer.... :-/

Mind-boggling, yes. But the alternate spelling exists.

Hi I don't understand why there picking on Rudolf Martin just because he is german. He played vlad very well and the English version is very good and a must see movie in my opionon. I didn't see the german version to see what there talking about.But no matter what I't won't change my mind about Rudolf Martin,He's a great and sexy actor. I love him.

It´s not about Rudolf Martin it´s just the synchronisation.
I saw the movie in both languages and the german version is absolutly horrible. The bad thing ist, that almost every german synchronisation is top notch so everybody thinks the movie sucks.
Also seht euch den Film im O-Ton an ;)

worst synchronisation ever!! its mainly rudolf martin as vlad draculea. his acting was great but i think in the german version he synchronized himself after the film. very dissappointing!
probably he wanted to sound very calm to express that vlad was calm on every situation even if he had hard decisions to make.

It is usually the case that the German synchronisation is very well down with actors voicing the dialogue under the supervision of a director so that the final result is very good indeed, although it still seems odd to watch an English-language film such as the Pawnbroker dubbed into German since it clashes with the visual aspects of the movie which clearly identify the setting as being in the USA.

Yes I remember from my time there that in Germany, they still like to dub foreign language movies with voice overs, instead of just using subtitles with the original audio track. They do this in France too. I'm assuming that your German dvd doesn't have the original language option, and if not then you might want to buy the dvd from the UK, to hear its original language. I can't believe that in 2016 Germany is still releasing Hollywood movies on dvd with a German track only. it's archaic. i remember that i couldn't buy the German dvd for "Requiem For a Dream" because it had no English audio option. Later on they released a deluxe edition that featured the original language with German subtitles, but that should be standard today, in a time when people want to hear the original voices of the actors, and don't mind reading subtitles.
