Wow!

I was physically abused for most of my childhood by my mother and my father was in denial over it. I thought what I had gone through was rough but after watching this on youtube my abuse was miniscule compared to what these poor women went through. I hope the devil had an especially hot spot ready and waiting for Melvin.

I just watched this last night. I could NOT believe my eyes when those women were actually HAPPY to see him in the hospital. What the hell is that ???? The blond woman was sitting right in from of him, all seductive and happy, then she hugs him, lays her entire body on him, and kisses him NOT at all like a daughter, and says she loves him. Unreal. Then the woman who was crippled and neglected, told "she was just trying to milk her disability for attention" tells him how GREAT it is to see him up and about in the hospital. No WONDER no one ever pressed charges against that monster. I am just flabbergasted right now.

I came on here to comment on that scene. I had watched the whole thing and it was getting towards the end and I thought, wow, they are all going to confront him in his nursing home room and he'll have a heart attack, so the ending will be shocking! Well, the ending WAS shocking because the opposite happened. No one would confront him, until after he was dead. And only the drunk ones. So sad. And like the OP said, no wonder he got away with it for so long. A lesson for us all that the molested sometimes forgive their molesters, some do not. Every person's experience is different, and yet it always affects their lives negatively in some way. Seems like the filmmaker's mother was a true survivor even though she went through her own hell. Her son should be commended for making such a brave film.
