One way that you can look at it is that he really paved the way for the anti-humor generation that came after him. He was kind of a forerunner to Adult Swim, Tim and Eric, Eric Andre, etc. Basically, he managed to show something like that could really fly on a national cable network and excel to the degree that it did. The Tom Green Show if anything, absolutely laid the groundwork for the Jackass style of comedy.
