It was poorly marketed!
That CGI cow fight is all they focused on the marketing. In my opinion, that's the least funny thing about it. The jokes & puns are freaking hilarious.
They sold people on something that it wasn't. It's a very solid spoof of old Kung fu movies & chosen one tropes imo
