This show don't make no sense

They find an ocean three days hike from their camp, but never managed to see it on any of their hot balloon outings?

And where is the Lost World anyway? They pass it off like it's part of Earth, but it clearly has to be another dimension. And more than that, one filled with little pocket dimensions.

They explain the uniqueness of the plateau better in season 3. The landscape undergoes rapid and unexpected changes due in large part to the premise that the plateau is the intersection of the Earth's energy fields which render it prone to shifting planes of reality. This is one of the reasons why getting off the plateau proves to be such a difficult task.

It is for this reason that the group are always making new maps of the plateau because as good as Veronica's parents were at cartography, their maps just did not keep up with the surroundings.

As for the location of the Lost World, it is meant to be in South America, nestled somewhere within the Amazon.

This show took a lot of liberties with the source material. I was one of the people who liked it, but I also enjoyed the A & E mini series that was a more literal, straightforward portrayal of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel.

That being said, this show, by adding a number of complexities to the plateau does aid in explaining why it's the only place on earth that has dinosuars, apemen and ancient tribal societies.

I hope that helps.

I've seen a bit more of it now. There is indeed some crazy spacial/time rift sort of stuff going on, it's not like in the original story. A lot changes got made in the second season which our heroes just sort of go with like it's totally normal. Totally bummed to see that Summerlee got bumped off the show. He was dead weight, but only cause the scripts never came up with anything for him to do. He would actually be the most valuable member of that expedition in the real world.

What makes no sense is their unlimited supplies of ammounitions, and stuff in general. They are supposed to be isolated on the plateau, where are they getting tools, ammos and supplies in general?

They know how to make gunpowder, save the shells, and make their own bullets. This was back before ATF.
