Jam/Blue Jam

I love Jam. Who doesn't? But if I'm comparing it with Blue Jam the radio show I'd have to go for Blue Jam every time. It's weirder, scarier and funnier when you create the scene. The doctor scenes in particular and the couple having sex, "Pull your leg off!! Make your spunk green!!" etc.

But the greatest moment has to be the monologues. They were reduced and turned into intros for Jam but in Blue Jam they are just mightily hilarious and completely outlandish. It's something Morris had tinkered with during his BBC music show. His "letters" involving women being impaled by frozen waste from an airplane toilet facility and the christmas presents episode. "Crescent Moon."

Jam is still an amazing achievement in my book but Blue Jam just works better.

The only monologue which I can think of being reduced to an intro was the noose/car element of the suicidal journalist monologue.

My favourite monologue I think is the wedding monologue. "The only way I could find to say I do was if it was were preceded by the words fu@ked if."

...but that's in Jam? & isn't it *beep* your leg off"? Either way, that's one of the best bits of Jam.

I'll have to listen to Blue Jam though, but I can't imagine it being better without the brilliant visual aesthetic that Jam has.
