never the same actress
why is it that the title character is played by different people in every movie? if its a sequel then they should be the same people.

I'm not sure why? But Rebirth and Forbidden Fruit are Superior films to Replay. If you havn't seen them, Please do. I thought the third act in Replay was terrible. The director of Rebirth is the director of Ju-on. The Music always changes from film to film too. I thought the Theme of the first film to be Haunting and Gorgeous as I did the actor in the role of Tomie. But then with every new film, there is a new actor and a new theme.

I think that the intention is showing a new babe in each film. Some people say that the secret of the series success is precisely that. I have only seen the original film and "another face", and in my opinion the first girl is scarier, but the second (Runa Nagai I think is her name) is prettier, but less scary.

I think it was to show a different kind of Tomie in each movie, I remember reading somewhere that she multiplies.
They are doing the same thing with Tomeie: Beginning and Tomie: Revenge, both are directed and written by Ataru Oikawa.
