never got to see any of ed burns other writing efforts but i must say that i enjoyed this movie immensely. had a real 'When Harry Met Sally' vibe except it took the focus off the the relationship and placed it on the sex. i'm disappointed i've never seen any other films by ed burns. are his other movies as good as this one?

I highly recommend all of Burns' Films. I really like him, Sidewalks is in my opinion his best.
shareI highly disagree actually, I really like his style as a director and actor but I thought that Sidewalks was the worst film of his, it's not funny and instead of being sweet where it's meant to be it quite often just comes off a bit creepy. I thought She's The One was excellent though, and the soundtrack is amazing also.

They're all OK but DON'T GET "A sound of Thunder"!! That's one of the most useless film I've ever seen!! :( Ugh! Watched THE RIVER KING the other night and it was very good - especially coz he's totally HOT in it!!!!!!

Sidewalks of New York is definitely his best movie in my opinion, however She's the One is probably my favorite. Sidewalks is more realistic, original, and applies to a broader audience but She's the One is makes me laugh more and i love when Ed casts Mike McGlone in his movies because they are great together. but yea i know this is 2 years after you requested recommendations and you may not even see this but I recommend The Brothers McMullen(its always good to see where a filmmaker started), She's the One, and The Groomsmen. I am still yet to see Purple Violets even though I have heard very good things about it, if anyone knows how i can find it besides on itunes please let me know. Oh yea and I also like Looking for Kitty but thats not for everyone, its a very minor effort but the low key tone of it is what makes it so appealing.

Ed is only a hired actor in Confidence and 15 Minutes, they're not his movies in the fact that he was not the writer or director.
I've seen She's the One numerous times, it has a real good supporting cast, including Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz and John Mahoney. I also remember liking The Brothers McMullen. As a matter of fact, I watched this film because I had it confused with Brothers McMullen! Mike McGlone and Maxine Bahns costar in both films.
Being inconsistent is better than being consistently bad.
