I found out about this movie by continually checking, on IMDB, too see what films Edward Burns is making. He is a great filmmaker.
Have you checked out his other films (The Brother's McMullen/She's The One etc)?

I really love 'The Brother's McMullen' (it won Sundance in 1995 I think), and 'She's The One'. They are both fantastic films. They are romantic comedies.

Also check out 'No Looking Back' and 'Ash Wednesday'. These are Drama's. Not quite as good as the first two, but they are still great - in my opinion anyway.

Let me know what you think if you get a chance to watch them.

I found out about this because years ago when I first "discovered" Rosario Dawson I saw every movie that she was in. Well, all the ones that were shown on the movie channels. This was one of them.

Bought it from a second hand DVD shop here. Looked ok so I got it.

Yep, I argue. :]

I did not like Brothers McMullen. Thought it was horribly overrated at the time. Saw part of She's the One and was similarly unimpressed.

I knew about this movie but was not dying to see it bc I have not been and Ed Burns fan. I taped it on cable and I LOVED IT. He seems to have gotten much better at creating and developing characters and writing authentic dialogue. Loved the soundtrack, esp. A Girl Like You.

This movie captures the difficulty of maintaining meaningful relationships in New York.

Since Ed Burns is part of my holy trinity of film makers along with Cameron Crowe, Robert Rodriguez, & Kevin Smith. That is the reason why I make it a point to seek out all of his movies. Heck living where I live isn't easy either The Groomsmen played only in 2 theaters and for only 1 week in town.
