what happened at the wery end when the shotgunshell dropped to the floor?

...Did he do the same as before?

That is the secret. Maybe they shoot him, maybe he makes the same what he was dreaming, maybe Aliens came.

Anyway great movie, like that style. I am sick of blockbuster *beep* ala Holly 'Damn" Wood.

Just as his first shooting spree of killing the bad guys started by accidently shooting the mafia don. The second spree of shooting the police (the good guys) starts accidently.

I think that's something that's left for the viewers to decide - it's something that could happen, but it's possible he might do something different.

It's an open ending. First time we witnessed what Takagi has imagined or dreamed could happen to him once the police caughts him, but next time it would be for real. Or... would be?

Anyway seems that Takagi would end killed regardless what he choose to do. IMO this movie is pretty much about determinism and fate, just like Kieslowski or Tykwer films. The main difference is that Sabu adds an extra dose of dry, morbid and dark sense of humour while making a point about gun control.

Great film.
