At the beginning, Nicole's brother's wife is admonishing him for driving carelessly through a yellow light as they all walk into the house. At the same time, he is carrying the baby in a front papoose-style baby carrier. I was wondering if these types of illogical progressions are as a result of the director/staff changing in midstream?

Before I begin, I have to apologize, I returned the video to the store, so some of the details are missing.
As Greg (Nicole's brother) and his wife come into the house, she is fussing with him about how he should be more careful driving. She is carrying groceries and he has the baby in a baby carrier. As they talk, they realize something was forgotten for the party and the wife offers to go back to the store and get it. Before leaving she offers to take the baby, her husband says no, I'll take care of the baby.
It appears that Greg had the baby carrier in the car while he was driving. I say that's not likely or even possible.
As to the second question, can you imagine asking a boyfriend to lend you his car and using that car on another date? I don't think so.
Please understand, I really liked this movie. The questions I have were more or less for my understanding of film making.
I dont think that Greg had the baby in his arms while he was driving...i think that maybe he took the baby out of the car seat and carried him in the house...
my question is...if he was such a terrible driver why would Donna let him drive around with their baby in the car???
yes that was tim's car...when he drop her boot off he is in that car...then later when she picks up brian..its the same red car with light brown leather seats.....scandalous!!! LOL
