this movie was good but it needed more explanations

I would have liked to get an idea about the region & time the story is set in, because everyone was just so against the idea of Julie digging women. It made it a little distracting to think about anything else.

Hoboken is in New Jersey. Judging by the computers she was working on, I'd say it was the early 90ies. In any case, in a small blue collar community, even if it was right now, I'd say the prejudices against them would still be very high.
