Puppets or CGI or both?
Do you think they used any puppets in this production or just CGI with some real cats? I would love to be able to make a cat in CGI with all those cute expressions like that evil white cat makes.

shareIn the directors' commentary, they revealed that the cat at the soccer stadium ticket booth (the one singing and dancing while wearing the gas mask) was a puppet; although they did some post-editing to camouflage the tell-tale signs of the puppeteers' controls. I think at least some scenes with Mr. Tinkles were puppets as they showed in the special feature some mechanical replicas of the different animals (including a small white furry-looking one) being constructed. Also (unfortunately) the cats (being independent as most cats are) were not as cooperative/trainable as the dogs in following basic directions.
shareBoth. The bit where Mr Tinkles goes "Evil does not wear a bonnet!" is definitely CGI.
I'm anespeptic, frasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericumbobulations...
