Was 9/11 why this show was cancelled?

This was such a good show, but ti just poofed right after 9/11. Maybe it was because alot of episodes where based in NY?

I loved it! But i think it was intended to be like a filler show, like the WB's The Mountain.

I really liked this show...RTE in Ireland here used to air it at the ungodly hour of 4am ...I only descovered it one night when I came home late, watched a couple of ep's over the next few days but then RTE stopped showing it :(

Same in Australia, it was broadcast at 2am or later. I only managed to catch a few episodes because of the timing. Hope it comes out on DVD soon so I can see them all.

reply

wow, i totally wondered this too-- cuz on one off the last aired episodes (that i saw)the blonde dude hijacked a plane w/ a plastic knife. oops bad timing, right?

9/11 was not why this show was cancelled. I am unclear of where but it was written that Dead Last was a placeholder show that was only going to air until Smallville premiered. It ended in september when the new season starts and Smallville took its place. I loved this show and every time I see Smallville I think of what could have been.

The answer is NO. Come on. The WB had announced that it was supposed to be a mid-season replacement coming on the air in early 2001...it was given a 13 episode order and they were shot and produced in the summer of 2000. Then they decided not to air it as a mid season replacement. Then summer reruns came around and they decided to go ahead and air 8 of the episodes instead of reruns of other shows. By the time it finally hit the air it was very clear that the show was not going to go back into production at any time. The new fall season that was scheduled to start airing in September of 2001 was already announced in May...many months before 9/11 ever happened and Dead Last was not a part of the Fall lineup.

Think people.

good show.

Did someone say THE MOUNTAIN?

LOL

Liked it. Friend of mine was on it

I always just assumed it was because of 9/11. And it wasn't really a summer show, it started in August, I think, (The OC did that, too). I liked it, I was pissed when Smallville came on and I realized they weren't showing this show at all. Especially seeing how Smallville turned out.

I think so...wasn't this show on tuesdays too? It was just back luck all around.

What you hear when I am watching Lost:"What the *beep* hell is going on in this *beep* show!"
