Silly questions from a non-Indian viewer.

I'm not from India but I've been very interested in Bollywood films for some years now. Of course, I watched "Devdas" (2002) on dvd. I've never watched the previous versions of the film and I've never read the novel (I couldn't find it translated to the languages I speak). Maybe that's why I have some doubts about the story. I'd be really grateful if somebody could help me to clarify these two points.

1- There is a scene where Paro is collecting some water. It's night and Devdas is with her. At the same time, Sumitra (Paro's mother) is dancing and singing a song at a party in Devdas' house. The song mentioned the love between Krishna and Radha. Is this an allusion to sex? I mean: Are they trying to say that Paro and Devdas have consummated their love (in sexual terms)?

2- At the end of the film, Paro runs to Devdas who is dying on the ground outside Paro's house. The gates are closed before she can leave the mansion. Paro falls at the gates. Is she dead too?

I know these questions may sound a little silly but sometimes, Bollywood films have certain subtle way to communicate some parts of the story which is hard to understand to non-Indians viewers.
Thanks in advance.

1.Yes that scene is an allusion that they got physical.... If this was a Hwood movie they would have shown the whole Sex scene...but since its a bollywood movie....with respectable actors ..they just showed an allusion.

2. I dont think so Paro dies at last.. I am not 100% sure as I havent read Novel....but it doesnt appear to me.....that she dies

They keep it very straight in the book. I've read a couple of versions and it does not imply anything about sex. But yes, it implies that since they are adults now, their relationship moves to 'sacred'; that their bodies are meant only for each other.
As for the last scene, Paro does not die. She withdraws to herself and continues the monotonous life she has with a broken heart. Chandramukhi leaves her courtesan life and moves to another city, filled with memories of Devdas.
