Kaye is the reincarnation of Leonard Rossiter!

THIS is the Reggie Perrin remake that was needed.

In fact, the last time Perfect World was on in 2001, I read a review of an episode in a tabloid and the guy who wrote it said that Paul Kaye was a dead ringer for Leonard Rossiter, with his facial expressions and mannerisms.

Hope this comes out on DVD soon.

Yeah, I can see why there would be the comparisons as far as acting styles are concerned. As in regards to their characters Reggie Perrin and Bob Slay had similaraties but were also opposites if you catch my drift. Perrin and Slay for instance were both suck ups although you might argue that Reggies motives were more pure than Slay who was a smarmy, egotistical, womanising sleaze while Reggie was a put upon drone who was a victim of society and the business world that he inhabited. Perrin knew he was a suck up and hated him self for it while Slay relished and endorsed what he did to further his own agenda. They both had very different moral sensibilites. That's not to say Reggie was an angel as he did after all fake his own death and have an affair with his secretary but he was Cliff bloody Richard in comparison!
