final episodes

I'm in the US and just finished watching the entire series (thank you Netflix). I made myself continue watching after the Archie/Lexie characters were replaced and found myself liking the new bunch very much. I particularly liked the water-horse episode which I thought was done with beauty and sensitivity and absolutely loved the teary ending. I thought the return of ghost/Hector was done very well. I lay the success of the later part of the series at the feet of the Molly/Golly/Paul characters. Very enjoyable for me.

I just watched the series for the first time and loved it. As the final episode ended, I felt as if I were saying goodbye to my family. While I missed Archie and Lexie, once they were gone I grew very fond of Paul, Ewan, Donald, and Jess. I liked Paul's assertiveness, quite different from Archie's wishy-washy personality. The return of Hector was hilarious, as was Donald's escape from the retirement home. The only character I never liked was Golly. I wanted Molly to marry Killwillie instead.

So it ended happily ever after, with everyone paired off.

Thank you for this! I was going to stop watching as I am only on season 3 but found out about Archie, who was wonderful, and Lexie--who was well acted, but totally the wrong choice for Archie. He's so honest and she's such a conniver, adorable and n"natural" as she may be. But I'll continue watching it.

They only showed Series 1 through 4 here in the DC area when new. After 1 run of series 4 our station pulled it. It showed on BBC America before I got the channel but was probably cut. Since last June, the same PBS station that showed it here launched an all UK all the time digital channel. They are currently in the same run through they started then and are up to Series 6. I bought series 4 barely remembered (being only 1 showing then) and series 5 through 7 sight unseen. Go figure after I got my copy of Series 7, they put out a mega set (actually the British copy of the mega set was out before I finished buying it here).
