Jonathan Davis was not a good choice for Lestat's voice.

I am a Korn fan, I Love their music, Issues is one of my favorite albums of all time. ALso I really love Jon's voice, I enjoyed listening to him singing in Korn. I really love his voice on Korn. sounds very unique.

But I really don't think he should have sang the songs, When I see the movie and I see Lestat singing and hear Jonathan's voice it just doesn't match up,
Jonathan has a higher pitch voice but Lestat speaks in a low tone voice.

Whenever I see the movie this bothers me a lot because Jonathan sounds like he is screaming the lyrics while Lestat looks like he is whispering in someone's ear lol.

I think someone like the Singer of HIM (Ville Valo) would be closer to what Lestat would have sounded like, someone with a soft mellow voice.

not only in voice but the way he looks and moves. The guy from HIM even looks like Lestat. The Singer from Linkin Park also had a voice that would fit the character more.

I will admit that I was glad Jonathan didn't get to sing the songs in the soundtrack because we got to hear other styles of singing

I'll look down, and whisper no

I agree totally. Lestat looks ridiculous with Jons voice coming out of him lol. But im glad they did it because I love the songs that came from this movie.

I love the songs as well,

This movie made me wish the band from the movie was a band in real life. I would love them so much.

I agree 100%. I love the movie, but the voice sounded borderline funny coming from Lestat.

yeah lol

right....

Completely agree about Ville Valo! I've been saying it for years and my friends, some of whom are Korn fans, just roll their eyes at me. LOL. Well sorry, but Jonathan's voice just doesn't match up with Stuart.

I know right? the way both actors talked as Lestat (specially tom cruise) lestat would have soundedlike Ville Valo or even the singer of the Damned or something like that,
soft, deep, the typical goth voice
thanks for commenting lol

Yeah that would have been better. So many things could have been better. Since I'm not the biggest HIM fan, in my ideal version it would have been Sentenced writing and playing all the music. Anyway, when I read the books I always picture The Vampire Lestat as a 'Christian Death' Rozz Williams-era type band. And I will continue doing so... and continue to pretend this movie doesn't even exist.

Having about 7 members on stage to play nu metal was ridiculous as well. I have no idea why they felt the need to do that, when even in the books it was just 4 total, drummer, guitarist, keyboardist, and lestat on vocals.. I didn't like how they made the chick the keyboardist either. But compared to the rest of the massive problems and total distortions of this movie, those are absolutely trivial and innocent changes.

Korn, HIM and Linkin Park? So much awful music in one post.

CG GORE IS THE WORST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO THE HORROR GENRE!

reply

it is not the music you dummy, It is their voices 

their voices would fit the movie a lot better. because of the way Lestat speaks. Lestat speaking voice is nothing like Davis singing style.

they couldn't obviously get the singer of cannibal corpse you idiot 
